Charlotte Di Calypso for Vogue Italia By Miles Aldridge

Extra sharp pieces, a mid-sixties office vibe, and an environment full of kakis, pales and camel are the ingredients for the new Vogue Italy beauty issue´s mash up. The hair being one of the focal points, reminds me a lot to my grandma wigs… those with extra volume, and calculated hair cuts, from Vidal Sassoon era.

Charlotte Di Calypso had the task to get us into this place through this spread signed by Miles Aldridge, where there´s a clear statement of color loosing to shape, curious, since Mile´s Photographs are super-light-fully with quite saturated hues, while having that -girl interrupted- moods, yet, here, the word boring makes sense with the most fashionable irksome in Charlotte´s deadpan face and fuddy-duddy furniture.

Curious Note:
Miles Aldridge´s father, Alan Aldridge was a popular graphic designer from 60´s and 70´s making collaborations with such great bands and characters, like The Beetles, Elton John and Warhol´s Chelsea Girls.
Curious Note 2: It always happens the same thing to both, father and son: In spite everybody have seen their work, resulting it so familiar, we never stop to think who has signed this cover or that spread, hence the examples down bellow.
Curious Note 3:
Charlotte´s wig reminds me the wigs my grandma used to wear, yet for some others, it reminds to the po po po poker face po po po poker face

Im so in love with this smudged lip

Here is Vlada, so wistful, nostalgic and a little quirky.

To the blue cloak virgin, instead giving her flowers I would give her something to eat.
